Job diversification is one of the alternative strategies adopted by communities to meet their daily needs and cope with economic instability. Honey cultivation has become a form of job diversification carried out by rubber farmers in Pagar Dewa Village as an effort to increase household income. This study aims to identify the challenges faced by rubber farmers in implementing honey cultivation and to examine the contribution of honey cultivation in improving the income of rubber farmers’ families. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, involving non-participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of each field activity during the research process. The findings of this study reveal two main points. First, the challenges faced by farmers include predator threats, extreme weather conditions that cause colonies to escape, and limited knowledge, skills, and equipment for cultivation. Second, honey cultivation functions effectively as a diversification strategy, as it serves as an additional source of income, reduces dependence on rubber, expenditure and income before and after honey cultivation, helps fulfill household needs, improves family welfare, and fosters hope for long-term business development. The results of this study are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the challenges and contributions of honey cultivation to rubber farmers in increasing their household income.
