DETEKSI RESIDU PESTISIDA PADA LEBAH MADU DI PERKEBUNAN KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)
Excessive pesticide use in oil palm farms can have a negative influence on honeybee survival, lowering colonies and leaving residues that can harm other insects. This study will use LC-MS to detect pesticide residues on honeybees in oil palm fields. Purposive sampling was utilized, which involved selecting oil palms at random but purposely selecting those with honeybees. This investigation found three species of honeybees: Heterotrigona itama, Apis mellifera and Apis dorsata. Pesticide chemicals were analyzed using LC-MS chromatography and found to be classified as insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, and nematicides, with insecticides and herbicides predominating. In the twelve samples examined, 26 pesticide chemicals were successfully identified. These substances affect the population and colonies of honeybees, causing changes in their behavior and feeding activities. Pesticide residue detection in honeybees in oil palm plantations revealed that the most detected compounds in each sample were from the insecticide and herbicide groups, while the least detected compounds were from the fungicide and nematicide groups, which may influence honeybee foraging and returning behavior. The honeybee species obtained were Heterotrigona itama, Apis mellifera and Apis dorsata, each having distinct physical traits. It is intended that by reducing the excessive use of pesticides in oil palm plantations, residues that could harm honeybee survival will be avoided.
