EFEKTIVITAS KOLONISASI JAMUR ENDOFIT ENTOMOPATOGEN ASAL LARVA LEPIDOPTERA MELALUI PERLAKUAN BENIH PAKCOI TERHADAP LARVA Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae)
Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae) is an oligophagous pest that causes significant production losses in Brassicaceae crops, resulting in economic losses of around 4-5 billion USD per year worldwide. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) to test the pathogenicity of 20 endophytic fungal isolates against P. xylostella larvae through seed treatment on pak choi (Brassica rapa L.) and 1 control without treatment (distilled water). The endophytic fungal isolate with pathogenicity in controlling P. xylostella was isolate WTTJAC29051B (B. bassiana) with a mortality rate of 38.67% and the shortest LT50 and LT95 values of 12.84 days and 26.51 days, showing symptoms of infection such as dead, dry, stiff larvae covered with mycelium. This is also supported by the results of leaf colonization tests, which show that treatment with isolate WTTJC290521B (B. bassiana) had the highest colonization rate of 80.00% on the fourteenth day. The results of the seed treatment method using entomopathogenic endophytic fungi on Brassicaceae plants cultivated using a hydroponic system showed that treatment using isolate JGTS240521 had the most significant effect on plant height parameters. In the last observation, this treatment was able to produce a plant height of 22.24 cm, making it the highest growth compared to other treatments. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that entomopathogenic endophytic fungi are effective in inhibiting feeding activity and increasing the mortality of P. xylostella larvae. It is recommended that Brassicaceae plants be treated with seed treatment using entomopathogenic fungi as a strategy to control P. xylostella.
