KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS TERTULIS SISWA KELAS VIII SMP SRIJAYA NEGARA MATERI TEOREMA PYTHAGORAS MELALUI LKPD BERBASIS CPA
Written mathematical communication is an essential competence in mathematics learning. This study aims to describe the written mathematical communication ability of Grade VIII students at SMP Srijaya Negara on the Pythagorean Theorem through learning using Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA)-based student worksheets. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data triangulation through written tests, interviews, and documentation involving 24 Grade VIII students. The results show that students’ written mathematical communication ability is classified into three categories: strong CPA linkage (LINK-STR) involving 7 students, moderate integrative linkage (LINK-MOD) involving 11 students, and weak linkage (LINK-WK) involving 6 students. Students in the LINK-STR category were able to coherently connect the concrete, pictorial, and abstract stages, while students in the LINK-MOD and LINK-WK categories were not yet able to fully integrate the CPA stages, resulting in limited written mathematical communication. This study indicates variations in students’ written mathematical communication ability in learning the Pythagorean Theorem through CPA-based worksheets.
