PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PUPUK K2SO4 TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN BAWANG MERAH VARIETAS BIMA BREBES DENGAN SISTEM BUDIDAYA TERAPUNG
The research on the effect of K₂SO₄ fertilizer on the growth and production of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) of the Bima Brebes variety cultivated using a floating system with bottle rafts was conducted at the Embung of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. This study aimed to determine the optimal dose of K₂SO₄ fertilizer that affects the growth and yield of shallots. The experiment used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatment doses: P₀ = 0 g/polybag, P₁ = 0.12 g/polybag (60 kg/ha), P₂ = 0.18 g/polybag (90 kg/ha), and P₃ = 0.24 g/polybag (120 kg/ha), each repeated three times. The results showed that the application of K₂SO₄ fertilizer had a significant effect on leaf greenness level in the 5th week and on fresh shoot weight, while it had no significant effect on other parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, bulb diameter, and bulb yield. The highest average fresh shoot weight was obtained in the P₁ treatment (33.83 g), while the highest chlorophyll content was observed in the P₂ treatment (48.41 mg L⁻¹). These findings indicate that K₂SO₄ fertilizer can enhance vegetative growth through improved photosynthetic activity, although its influence on bulb formation remains limited.
