AN INQUIRY INTO THE PERCEPTION FRAMEWORK OF ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDENTS REGARDING DISNEY+ HOTSTAR AS A DIGITAL PEDAGOGICAL INSTRUMENT FOR ORAL PROFICIENCY ENHANCEMENT IN EFL CONTEXTS
In the realm of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning, leveraging digital platforms has garnered considerable interest due to their accessibility and multimedia-rich environments. This study investigates the perceptions of English Education students toward using Disney+ Hotstar as a digital tool for enhancing oral proficiency. Specifically, it examines students' attitudes, perceived benefits, and challenges encountered in using the platform to develop speaking skills. Employing a mixed-method approach, this research integrates quantitative survey data with qualitative interview insights to provide a comprehensive understanding of learner experiences. The findings reveal that students generally perceive Disney+ Hotstar as engaging, accessible, and supportive for improving pronunciation, vocabulary use, and speaking confidence, despite certain limitations such as dependency on subtitles and internet connectivity. Overall, the study contributes to the growing discourse on digital language learning by highlighting the potential of streaming platforms as pedagogical instruments in EFL classrooms.
