INDUKSI RESISTENSI MENGGUNAKAN KITOSAN SEBAGAI PENGENDALIAN PENYAKIT Ceratocystis PADA TANAMAN DUKU (Lansium domesticum Corr.) DI SUMATERA SELATAN
ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effectiveness of chitosan compounds in controlling Ceratocystis disease in langsat plants (Lansium domesticum Corr.) through in vitro and in vivo approaches. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six chitosan concentration treatments and included two controls (0; 0 mg/L + 0.1% acetic acid; 0.5; 5; 50; and 500 mg/L) with 10 replications each. The results of the in vitro test showed that all chitosan concentrations were able to suppress the growth of Ceratocystis mycelium compared to the control, with the most effective inhibition at a concentration of 50 mg/L. In the in vivo test, the 50 mg/L treatment resulted in the lowest disease intensity (42.50%) and the lowest seedling mortality rate (10%), while the control showed the highest attack and mortality. Observations of chlorophyll (CHL) and nitrogen (N) showed that the effect of the treatment was significant at the beginning of the observation, but not significantly different at the end of the observation phase. The length of lesions at the base of the stem was significantly affected by treatment, with the shortest lesions at a concentration of 50 mg/L. Overall, chitosan effectively increased the resistance of langsat plants to Ceratocystis disease, particularly at a concentration of 50 mg/L, which consistently provided the best response both physiologically and pathogenically.
