HUBUNGAN SELF-CONTROL DENGAN PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING PADA SISWA KELAS X SMA NEGERI 1 PEMULUTAN
Self-Control is the ability of adolescents to regulate their behavior, thoughts, and emotions to align with the goals they want to achieve. Psychological Well-Being describes the psychological well-being of adolescents in carrying out daily activities. This study aims to identify the relationship between Self-Control and Psychological Well-Being among 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Pemulutan. The study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 106 students obtained through simple random sampling. The research instruments consisted of a Self-Control scale and a Psychological Well-Being scale, with analysis conducted using the Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results show that the levels of both variables fall in the moderate category. In addition, there is a positive relationship between Self-Control and Psychological Well-Being, but the strength is very weak (r = 0.162) and thus not statistically significant (p = 0.097 > 0.05). These findings indicate that self-control still contributes to students' psychological well-being, although this contribution is relatively small and not strong enough to form a statistically significant relationship. This indicates that self-control is not the sole determinant of psychological well-being in students at SMA Negeri 1 Pemulutan, so it is necessary to consider the role of other factors such as social support, academic pressure, and personal experiences that also influence students' psychological well-being.
