KEMAMPUAN SPASIAL SISWA MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS JOYFUL PADA MATERI BANGUN RUANG

This study aims to describe students' spatial abilities through joyful-based learning in spatial building materials. This type of research is descriptive. The subject of this study is a student of grade XI.3 of SMP Negeri 17 Palembang. The data collection techniques are tests and interviews. In the analysis of test data, the subject's ability to think spatially was described. In the analysis of interview data, it delved into how students visualize three-dimensional objects and their thinking process towards the representation of space. The results of the study show that the critical thinking ability of students in grade XI.3 of SMP Negeri 17 Palembang in the medium category, shows real progress, but has not reached the optimal level, shows real progress, but has not reached the optimal level. These findings indicate that Joyful Learning has the potential to be an alternative learning strategy that supports visualization and understanding of geometry concepts, although it needs media support or additional method variations to maximize its effectiveness. This research is expected to make a practical contribution for teachers in designing geometry learning as well as enriching theoretical insights regarding the relationship between Joyful Learning and students' spatial abilities.
