PEMANFAATAN KOLAGEN IKAN PATIN (Pangasius sp.) DALAM PROSES REGENERASI TULANG ALVEOLAR PASCA EKSTRAKSI GIGI TIKUS WISTAR (Literature Review)
Background: Tooth extraction is the most frequently performed treatment in dentistry, with a rate reaching 7.9%. The impact of tooth extraction is alveolar bone resorption, so alternative treatments are needed that can accelerate alveolar bone regeneration with natural ingredients, namely catfish collagen. Objective: To determine the benefits and effects of administering catfish collagen on the alveolar bone regeneration process after tooth extraction in Wistar rats. Method: This literature review was conducted using data obtained through Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct. The search was conducted for literature published from 2015-2025. The obtained literature will be selected and continued with data extraction. Results: This literature review successfully synthesized 7 Animal Studies journals that can improve the factors that influence alveolar bone regeneration. Conclusion: Administration of catfish collagen after tooth extraction has been shown to influence the bone regeneration process by increasing fibroblast cells in the inflammatory phase, increasing collagen in the reparative phase, and increasing lymphocyte and osteoprotegerin cells in the remodeling phase.
