HUBUNGAN KEBIASAAN SARAPAN PAGI DAN ASUPAN ENERGI DENGAN DAYA KONSENTRASI BELAJAR MURID SMA NEGERI 1 OGAN KOMERING ULU
Breakfast is an important factor in supporting students’ cognitive function and learning ability. However, many students still skip breakfast before 09:00 a.m., resulting in suboptimal fulfillment of daily energy requirements. This condition may lead to decreased concentration and learning achievement. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between breakfast habits and the adequacy of energy intake with learning concentration among students of SMA Negeri 1 Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU).This study employed a Cross Sectional design with a Quota Sampling technique involving 100 students aged 15–17 years. The independent variables were breakfast habits and energy intake, while learning concentration served as the dependent variable. Data were collected using a breakfast habits questionnaire, the food recall method to assess energy intake, and concentration measurement using the Digit Symbol Substitution Test (DSST).The results showed that 49% of students had poor breakfast habits, 41% rarely consumed breakfast, and 45% had energy intake below the recommended requirements. Nevertheless, 59% of students were still categorized as having good learning concentration. Rank Spearman correlation analysis indicated a significant relationship between breakfast habits and learning concentration (r = 0,427), as well as a significant negative relationship between energy intake and learning concentration (r = - 0,836). It is recommended that future studies collect food recall data through direct interviews with respondents, accompanied by household portion size estimation and the use of food photo books based on national food composition data.
