UJI REPELENSI MINYAK ATSIRI DAUN CENGKEH DENGAN FORMULASI GRANULAR TERHADAP POPULASI KUMBANG TEPUNG MERAH (Tribolium castaneum HERBST)
Rice is one of the staple foods, especially for the people of Indonesia. Tribolium castaneum is a warehouse pest that has a wide range of attacks on various commodities in storage. This study aims to determine the effect of clove leaf essential oil on T. castaneum pests, the concentration that has a high repellency index against T. castaneum, and the concentration that causes high mortality in T. castaneum pests in rice storage warehouses. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD). This study used a control, 6 treatments, and 4 replicates. The dosage used in this study were 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. This observation was conducted over 14 days with the parameters observed being repellency, mortality, LD₅₀, and LT₅₀. In this study, 20 T. castaneum imagoes were used. At a mortality rate of 20%-25%, the mortality rate was higher than at a mortality rate of 5%-10%. In the repellency index observation, the 5% doses showed the highest repellency value of 68%. The LD₅₀ analysis on day 1 showed an LD₅₀ value of 147,686, while on day 13 it showed an LD₅₀ value of 3,018. In the LT₅₀ analysis, the 0% doses tended to be higher, while the 5% - 25% doses decreased day by day, indicating that these doses were faster in causing the death of T. castaneum. In conclusion, clove leaf essential oil can act as a repellent and insecticide for T. castaneum at a doses of 5%, which provides the highest repellency effect, and increasing the doses and time tends to increase the mortality rate of T. castaneum pests. The analysis shows that the doses affects mortality, while time has only a small effect on the mortality rate of T. castaneum.
