IDENTITAS VIRTUAL PEMAIN VIDEO GAMES DALAM KOMUNITAS VIRTUAL TUA-TUA ROBLOX
This study investigates online video games not solely as entertainment, but also as platform for social interaction without time and location restrictions. These conditions enable the construction of virtual identities among players, as exemplified by the Tua-Tua Roblox community. The purpose of this research is to identify, analyze, and comprehend the virtual identities that emerge through interactions within the Tua-Tua Roblox community, a group on Roblox whose members are aged 21 and above. This study employed a qualitative research design and adopted Nagy and Kole’s virtual identity framework, which encompasses the individual, micro, and macro levels. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature review. Collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that virtual identity construction through three phases: (1) Individual level through avatar, (2) Interaction avatar with other avatar within community, and (3) Interactions as member of Tua-Tua Roblox in virtual enviroment.
