ANALISIS KARAKTERISTIK BRIKET ARANG DARI LIMBAH BATOK KELAPA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN PEREKAT TEPUNG MAIZENA
This study aims to test the comparison of adhesive variations of the best charcoal briquettes and meet SNI from coconut shell material using cornstarch adhesive. The method used is the experimental method. The results of charcoal briquettes have a block shape with a length of 3 cm, a width of 3 cm, and a height of 3.5 cm with two types of adhesive percentages, namely A (7%) and B (10%) with 500 grams of adhesive per material. The calorific value in treatment A is close to the SNI standard. Volatile matter content, ash content, bound carbon content in all treatments do not meet SNI standards. Charcoal briquettes whose treatment is closest to SNI standards are water content (6.59%), volatile matter content (40.29%), ash content (15.75%), bound carbon content (33.70%), calorific value (4916.318 cal/g). The experimental method used was carried out 3 times repetition in each treatment. It is recommended that further research be carried out with each treatment using tools for the briquetting process in order to get results that meet national standards.
