KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN MATEMATIS SISWA DALAM MATERI BARISAN ARITMETIKA BERBANTUAN GEOGEBRA DI SMA
Students' mathematical reasoning skills are still relatively low in arithmetic sequences, which require pattern recognition and function evaluation skills, indicating the need to apply GeoGebra-assisted inquiry-based learning as an alternative learning strategy to help students build a deeper understanding. This study aims to describe students' mathematical reasoning abilities through the application of GeoGebra-assisted learning in arithmetic sequences in grade XI students at SMA Negeri 8 Palembang. This study used a descriptive method with 28 grade XI students as subjects. Data were obtained through a written test consisting of three essay questions compiled based on indicators of mathematical reasoning abilities to measure students' abilities in arithmetic sequences. Data analysis was conducted descriptively based on the achievement of each indicator. The results showed that the average mathematical reasoning ability of students was in the “Good” category with a percentage of 68.9%. The distribution of student ability categories includes: 39.29% (11 students) in the “Very Good” category, 17.86% (5 students) in the “Good” category, 39.29% (11 students) in the “Fair” category, and 3.57% (1 student) in the “Poor” category. These findings indicate that GeoGebra can help students’ mathematical reasoning skills in arithmetic sequences, particularly in evaluating functions and determining the nth term in a more systematic, logical, and structured manner.
