EVALUASI PENGELOLAAN TANAMAN TERPADU (PTT) PADA BUDIDAYA TANAMAN CABAI (Capsicum Spp.) TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN PENYAKIT TANAMAN CABAI DI KECAMATAN INDRALAYA UTARA, KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR.
Low chili production is often caused by various technical and non-technical factors, one of the main causes being the use of low-quality seeds. Major pathogens that frequently attack chili plants, such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, and nematodes, can reduce the quality of chili peppers from the nursery stage to harvest. Chili pepper (Capsicum Spp.) is one of the horticultural crops widely cultivated in Indonesia because it has high market value in terms of consumption and economic importance. This crop is widely consumed as an industrial food ingredient and is exported to other countries. One of the horticultural crops most widely developed by farmers in Indonesia is chili pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) because it plays an important role in human life. Therefore, to prevent negative impacts on the environment, it is necessary to apply environmentally friendly pest and disease control technologies. Integrated Crop Management (ICM) is one of the crop management technologies or approaches based on economic balance and environmental sustainability, aiming to achieve a balance between production costs and farm income. The objective of this study was to determine the level of implementation of Integrated Crop Management on the incidence and intensity of disease attacks on chili plants in Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. This research was conducted from June to August 2025 in several chili production center villages in Ogan Ilir Regency. The study employed a field survey method, followed by interviews and observations of farmers’ fields to obtain primary data. The research locations were determined by conducting surveys or visiting areas where the majority of chili farmers reside, followed by interviews with 30 chili farmers using a systematically designed questionnaire in North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. Furthermore, observation locations were determined using the purposive sampling method. Diseased plants were selected using the simple random sampling method. The collected data were analyzed using correlation and regression tests with RStudio software. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of Integrated Crop Management plays an important role in reducing the incidence and intensity of disease attacks on chili plants. However, there are other factors that also influence the reduction of disease incidence and intensity besides ICM, such as environmental conditions, plant varieties used, and cultivation techniques.
