PENGARUH INTENSITAS DAN KEPUASAN MENONTON TERHADAP HUBUNGAN PARASOSIAL PADA PROGRAM SURVIVAL SHOW BOYS II PLANET (STUDI PADA PENGIKUT AKUN INSTAGRAM @BOYSPLANET.OFFICIAL)
This study examines the effect of viewing intensity and viewing satisfaction on parasocial relationships among viewers of the survival show Boys II Planet who follow the Instagram account Boysplanet.Official. Grounded in mass communication studies, this research applies the uses and gratifications theory, which conceptualizes audiences as active media users. A quantitative survey method was employed, with data collected from 100 respondents selected through non-probability purposive sampling and measured using a Likert scale. Online questionnaires were distributed, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 27. The findings reveal that viewing intensity has a significant effect on parasocial relationships (t = 3.187, p = 0.002), while viewing satisfaction also shows a significant effect (t = 4.063, p < 0.001). Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence parasocial relationships (F = 38.987, p < 0.001). The R-square value of 0.452 indicates that viewing intensity and satisfaction explain 45.2% of the variance in parasocial relationships, while the remaining variance is influenced by other factors. These results highlight parasocial relationships as an outcome of active media consumption within mass communication processes.
