This study examines the lifestyle of rubber farmers who have become owners of artisanal oil businesses in Toman Village, Babat Toman Subdistrict. The lifestyle of these artisanal oil business owners reflects changes in economic, social, cultural, and symbolic capital, which increase income and give rise to a new lifestyle habitus. This study aims to identify and understand the form of lifestyle as well as the factors influencing the socioeconomic transformation of the people in Toman Village. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study research strategy. This study employs the theory of Social Interaction; the concepts of Capital, Habitus, and Field by Pierre Bourdieu. The data in this study were obtained from 1 Toman Village Government official, 5 former rubber farmers who have switched professions to become artisanal oil entrepreneurs, and 5 close associates of the artisanal oil entrepreneurs through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the shift in profession is driven by factors such as generational experience, the desire to improve welfare, fluctuations in rubber prices, as well as opportunities for technological and economic advancement from artisanal oil. This shift gives rise to a habitus or lifestyle, reflected in consumption patterns, social interactions, and ways of thinking, which can be marked by increased consumption of luxury goods, construction of permanent houses, deviant lifestyles, ownership of private vehicles, and a future-oriented mindset.
