STATUS LOGAM BERAT KADMIUM (CD) PADA TANAH ANDISOL YANG DITANAMI SAWI PUTIH DI DESA TALANG PASAI, KECAMATAN PAGARALAM UTARA, SUMATERA SELATAN
In agriculture, soil plays a crucial role as a growing medium, and its fertility is crucial for agricultural success. Andisol soil is known for its fertility, but agricultural intensification with the continuous use of chemical fertilizers can lead to heavy metal contamination. One such element is cadmium (Cd), which is highly toxic and harmful to human health and can reduce crop productivity if its concentration in the soil exceeds threshold levels. This study aimed to assess the heavy metal content of cadmium (Cd) in Andisol soil planted with Chinese cabbage and the influence of soil chemical properties (pH, CEC, and organic carbon) on Cd levels. The study was conducted in Talang Pasai Village, North Pagaralam District, South Sumatra. The method used in this study was a detailed survey with a map scale of 1:2,000. The soil samples were collected using a purposive sampling method at a depth of 0-30 cm, from one block of mustard greens, with five composite samples taken five times. Wet destruction of Cd analysis using HNO3 and HCLO4. The results showed that the Cd content in Andisol soil has exceeded the established threshold value, with an average of 5.53 mg/kg. Furthermore, there was no significant effect between soil chemical properties (pH, CEC, and organic carbon) on cadmium (Cd) content. Keywords: Andisol Soil, Cadmium (Cd), White Mustard
