POPULASI DAN SERANGAN PHYLLOTRETA SPP. (COLEOPTERA: CHRYSOMELIDAE) PADA TANAMAN BRASSICA CHINENSIS SETELAH APLIKASI BEAUVERIA BASSIANA
This study assessed the efficacy of Beauveria bassiana as a bioinsecticide in reducing the infestation and population density of Phyllotreta spp. on Brassica chinensis, considering the increasing resistance of the pest to chemical insecticides and the growing need for sustainable pest management strategies. The findings showed that the bioinsecticide consistently lowered infestation intensity compared to the control, with statistically significant differences observed during most observation intervals. The control treatment reached a maximum intensity of 28%, whereas the B. bassiana application remained considerably lower. Pest population density also declined significantly, particularly during the fifth and ninth observations, demonstrating the bioinsecticide’s influence on population dynamics. Conversely, leaf number showed no significant statistical differences across treatments, indicating that the bioinsecticide does not hinder vegetative growth. These results support the conclusion that B. bassiana functions as an effective and environmentally sustainable alternative for managing Phyllotreta spp. on Brassica chinensis.
