HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI SPLTV DENGAN MEMANFAATKAN APLIKASI MATHWAY DI SMA MUHAMMADIYAH 1 PALEMBANG
This study aims to examine and analyze students’ learning outcomes on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Three Variables (SPLTV) by utilizing the Mathway application at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang. The study is motivated by the low ability of students to solve SPLTV word problems and the limited use of instructional technology. The research employed a descriptive method with a quantitative approach, involving Grade X students in the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year who participated in SPLTV learning activities supported by the Mathway application. Data were collected through classroom observations, written essay tests designed to assess students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills in SPLTV, as well as interviews with the mathematics teacher and selected students. The data were analyzed by scoring students’ answers using a rubric for SPLTV understanding and solution processes, calculating mean scores, and describing common error patterns and the ways students used Mathway to solve the problems. The results indicate that the use of Mathway helps students comprehend step-by-step SPLTV solutions, improves computational accuracy, and increases their confidence in solving problems, although errors in modeling contextual problems and a tendency to rely on automatic answers from the application are still observed. Overall, students’ learning outcomes in SPLTV fall into the fair to good category, and the integration of Mathway shows potential as an effective supporting medium in mathematics learning when combined with adequate teacher guidance and reinforcement of conceptual understanding.
