TRANSMISI BUDAYA LOKAL PADA PROGRAM ACARA PESONA INDONESIA LPP TVRI SUMATERA SELATAN
The Pesona Indonesia program at LPP TVRI Sumatra Selatan is one of the mass media that displays cultural documentaries. This study uses the theory of cultural transmission with six indicators, namely vertical, horizontal, oblique, enculturation, acculturation, and socialization. The method used was qualitative descriptive, with data obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the process of cultural transmission in this program occurs through various forms, except vertical transmission. No family relationship was found between TVRI SUMSEL, the source, and the audience which was the main requirement in the vertical transmission process. Meanwhile, horizontal transmission can be seen from the involvement of actors with different backgrounds that facilitate the dissemination of cultural information to various circles. In oblique transmission, the involvement of the older generation of non-families such as cultural experts plays an important role in conveying local cultural values. The enculturation process is evident from a consistent broadcasting pattern, helping viewers adopt the culture being displayed. Acculturation can occur because these shows are broadcast on local and national TVRI, expanding the reach of the audience and opening up opportunities for cultural exchange. In addition, Pesona Indonesia also acts as a socialization agent that instills local moral and cultural values through visualizations that are interesting and easy for the community to understand.
