KEMAMPUAN KONEKSI MATEMATIS SISWA SMP MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PBL (PROBLEM BASED LEARNING) BERBANTUAN GEOGEBRA PADA MATERI PERSAMAAN GARIS LURUS

Kholifah, Nur - Personal Name;

Research shows that Indonesian students' mathematical connection skills are still relatively low. This is due to learning approaches that do not sufficiently support the development of these skills. One effort to improve students' mathematical connection skills is to implement a problem-based learning (PBL) model. The PBL model provides students with the opportunity to develop understanding through the exploration of relevant problems and group discussions. The addition of technology such as GeoGebra can strengthen the implementation of this model, as GeoGebra provides interactive visualizations and facilitates the exploration of abstract mathematical concepts. In the context of linear equation material, the GeoGebra application allows students to understand the relationship between algebraic representations, graphs, and context more intuitively (Dabbagh & Menazla, 2020). This study aims to describe the mathematical connection abilities of junior high school students using the PBL (Problem-Based Learning) model with the assistance of GeoGebra in the subject of linear equations. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. The location is at Jalan Silaberanti No. 16, Jakabaring District, Palembang City. The study was conducted during the 2024/2025 academic year. The population consisted of 32 students, with the sample being Class VIII.5. The sampling technique involved written tests and interviews. The research instruments included three items of mathematical connection ability tests and semi-structured interview guidelines. Data were analyzed using a scoring rubric and categorized into three levels of mathematical connection ability: high, moderate, and low. The results of this study indicate that out of 32 students at SMP Negeri 35 Palembang who met the criteria, 12 students had moderate ability levels, 9 students had high ability levels, and 11 students had low ability levels.
