INVENTARISASI SERANGGA PADA TANAMAN KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensi jacq.) TBM DAN GULMA DI SEKITARNYA, DUSUN I, DESA MUARA PENIMBUNG, KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR, PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
This study aims to record the types of insects found on immature oil palm plants (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) and on weeds growing around them in Hamlet I, Muara Penimbung Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The presence of insects in the oil palm plantation ecosystem is very important, both as pests, natural predators, and as neutral insects that help maintain the balance of the ecosystem. In addition, weeds around oil palm plants are known to be alternative habitats for various types of insects, which can influence changes in pest populations in the plantation. This study was conducted to identify the insect species present in immature oil palm plants and surrounding weeds, determine the ecological function of each species, and assess the effectiveness of the techniques or insect traps used. It is hoped that the results of the inventory can provide information on insect diversity in the oil palm plantation ecosystem and become the basis for designing effective and environmentally friendly pest control strategies.
