PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN TEPUNG BUAH PEPAYA (Carica papaya L.) PADA PAKAN TERHADAP LAJU PERTUMBUHAN IKAN KAKAP PUTIH (Lates calcarifer)
Research on the effect of adding papaya fruit powder to self-made feed based on papaya fruit powder with a 5% natural binder Gelidium sp, and commercial feed (Hi Pro Vite) to support the growth rate of White Snapper. The research method used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) divided into 2 observations, namely physical testing of the feed and biological testing consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replications, namely (a) Commercial feed (Hi Pro Vite), (b) Feed with the addition of 22.5 g/kg papaya fruit powder, and (c) Feed with the addition of 42.5 g/kg papaya fruit powder. The results showed that the 5% Gelidium sp binder was the best with a disintegration speed of 91.67 minutes; sinking rate of 0.180 cm/min; pellet hardness of 3.846 g; feed stability of 81.07%; and moisture content of 8%. The best feed to support the growth rate of White Snapper was the addition of 22.5 g papaya fruit powder, which produced results in absolute weight growth (6.45 g), absolute length (6.78 cm), SGR (1.86%), FCR (1.74), and survival rate (96%). This indicates that the growth rate of White Snapper develops well and optimally.
