PENERAPAN ETNOMATEMATIKA BATIK MOTIF TAMBAL TUMPAL BERBANTUAN CANVA SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN MATERI BANGUN DATAR KELAS VII
Learning plane geometry is often perceived as abstract because it is not sufficiently connected to real-life contexts and local culture. One approach that can be used to relate mathematics to cultural contexts is ethnomathematics, including through the use of batik motifs. In addition, the use of digital media such as Canva has the potential to support the visualization of mathematical concepts in learning. However, studies that examine ethnomathematics-based learning using the Tambal Tumpal batik motif combined with Canva at the junior high school level are still limited. This study aims to describe students’ responses to mathematics learning based on ethnomathematics using the Tambal Tumpal batik motif assisted by Canva on plane geometry topics. This research employed a descriptive method using quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data were obtained through a student response questionnaire, while qualitative data were collected through observations and interviews with seventh-grade students. The results showed that students’ responses were in the very positive category, with an average percentage of 85.5%. These findings indicate that mathematics learning based on ethnomathematics using the Tambal Tumpal batik motif assisted by Canva received positive responses from students and can be used as a contextual learning alternative.
