EFEKTIVITAS PEMBERIAN PUPUK ORGANIK TERHADAP SERANGAN PENYAKIT LAYU FUSARIUM DAN PERTUMBUHAN TANAMAN BAWANG MERAH (Allium ascalonicum L.)
Red onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a horticultural commodity that contributes to Indonesia's economy with an income of approximately Rp. 2.7 trillion per year. One of the factors causing a decline in red onion production in Indonesia is the attack of the Fusarium oxysporum fungus. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of organic fertilizer in suppressing Fusarium wilt disease and its effect on red onion growth in the vegetative and generative phases. This study used a randomized block design (RAK) with 5 treatments and 2 replicates. The variables observed included disease incubation period, disease intensity, and disease percentage. This study also observed plant growth until harvest with variables observed including plant height, leaf length, number of leaves, number of tillers, and finally calculated the harvest yield, namely the wet weight and dry weight of red onion bulbs. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the treatment had a significant effect on the intensity and percentage (P0), producing the highest disease intensity and percentage with an average of 56.67% and 25.49%, indicating that plants without additional organic matter were more susceptible to F. oxysporum infection. Conversely, treatment P1 showed the lowest disease intensity and percentage, namely 16.94% and 7.55%, which was significantly different from the other treatments. This indicates that organic fertilizer in P1 was able to increase plant resistance by improving soil conditions.
