PERTUMBUHAN DAN KELANGSUNGAN HIDUP BENIH IKAN TAMBAKAN (Helostoma temminckii) YANG DIBERI CACING SUTERA (Tubifex sp.) DIKOMBINASI DENGAN PAKAN KOMERSIAL

Guntara, M. Satria - Personal Name;

Fingerlings require proper nutrition to grow well. Silk worms (Tubifex sp.) are commonly used as feed during the fingerling phase due to their excellent nutritional content. However, a limitation of silk worms (Tubifex sp.) is their availability, which can be constrained during certain periods, especially in the rainy season, leading to increased prices and consequently higher production costs. To address this issue, it is necessary to combine commercial feeds with silk worms (Tubifex sp.). This study aims to determine the optimal dosage of silk worms (Tubifex sp.) combined with commercial feeds to enhance growth rate and survival rate. This research will be conducted from November 2024 to January 2025. This study uses a completel randomized design consisting of five treatments and three replications, namely: 100% silk worms (P1), 75% silk worms and 25% commercial feeds (P2), 50% silk worms and 50% commercial feeds (P3), 25% silk worms and 75% commercial feeds (P4), and 100% commercial feeds (P5). Parameters observed include daily weight and length growth rate, survival rate, feed efficiency and water quality. The results showed that the feeding of silk worms (Tubifex sp.) combined with commercial feeds had a significant effect on all parameters observed. The P3 treatment gave the best results with a daily weight growth rate of 2.62% day-1 , a daily length growth rate of 1.58% day-1, feed efficiency of 23.05% and survival rate of 99.17%. Water quality during the study remained within the optimal range for the growth of kissing gourami (Helostoma temminckii). It can be concluded that the combination of silk worms (Tubifex sp.) and commercial feed in kissing gourami (Helostoma temminckii) fingerlings showed the best results at the treatment consisting of 50% silk worms and 50% commercial feed.
