PENGARUH REWARD DAN PUNISHMENT TERHADAP KINERJA OPERATOR PT BUKIT ASAM KREATIF
This study aims to examine the effect of reward and punishment on operator performance at PT Bukit Asam Kreatif. Operator performance plays a critical role in supporting productivity and occupational safety in the mining sector, which is characterized by high operational risks. This research employed a quantitative approach with a causal research design. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire survey administered to 150 heavy equipment operators selected using purposive sampling from a total population of 370 operators. The reward and punishment variables were measured based on intrinsic and extrinsic rewards as well as preventive and repressive sanctions, while operator performance was assessed through work quality, work quantity, effectiveness, and work independence. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with statistical software assistance. The results indicate that reward has a positive and significant effect on operator performance, suggesting that a fair and performance-based reward system enhances work motivation and productivity. Furthermore, punishment also shows a positive and significant effect on operator performance, indicating that proportional and consistent sanctions can improve discipline and compliance with work procedures. Simultaneously, reward and punishment significantly explain variations in operator performance. These findings highlight the importance of balancing rewards and sanctions in human resource management practices to achieve sustainable improvements in operator performance.
