DETERMINAN KONSENTRASI BELAJAR PADA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA KAMPUS INDRALAYA
Study concentration in students is influenced by various factors including sleep quality, stress and anxiety, academic load, learning environment, and addiction to mobile phones. These problems cause students to be easily distracted, have difficulty understanding the material, and reduce academic achievement. This study aims to determine the determinants of study concentration in students. This study used a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 389 active undergraduate students of Sriwijaya University in semesters 2, 4, and 6 of the 2025 academic year with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection used a questionnaire distributed using a Google link. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test in bivariate analysis and logistic regression test in multivariate analysis. The results of the study based on the chi-square test showed that there was a significant relationship between smartphone addiction and study concentration with a p-value = 0.008; PR = 1.146; (95% CI 1.039 - 1.264). The results of the multivariate analysis showed that students with high smartphone addiction had a 2.6 times greater risk of having low learning concentration compared to students with lower smartphone addiction (p-value = 0.001; PR = 2.615; (CI 95% 1.484 – 4.609). Therefore, it is recommended that students can manage their smartphone usage time wisely and improve their study and rest time management to maintain optimal learning concentrationss.
