KEMAMPUAN COMPUTATIONAL THINKING PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VII DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL NUMERASI MATERI BILANGAN RASIONAL
This study aims to describe the computational thinking abilities of seventh-grade students in solving numeracy problems on rational numbers. Computational thinking abilities are analyzed based on four indicators, namely decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms. This study uses a descriptive method. The research subjects were seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 5 Indralaya Utara who were classified into high, medium, and low categories based on test results. Data were collected through written tests and interviews, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. The results showed that the students' computational thinking skills were generally in the medium category. The decomposition indicator was the most dominant indicator mastered, while the abstraction indicator had the lowest achievement. Students in the high category were able to meet all four computational thinking indicators, students in the medium category showed inconsistent abilities, and students in the low category still experienced difficulties in almost all indicators. The interview results reinforced the findings of the written test and showed that the students' difficulties were influenced by a lack of understanding of concepts and problem-solving planning.
