ANALISIS PERILAKU SEKSUAL BERISIKO TRANSGENDER DALAM PENCEGAHAN PENULARAN HIV DI PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN STUDI KASUS: DI KOTA PALEMBANG DAN KABUPATEN BANYUASIN

Background: Transgender people are a group at high risk of HIV due to risky sexual behavior. This research is crucial to understanding the factors influencing risky sexual behavior among transgender people in HIV prevention efforts. Methods: This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling of 210 respondents. Univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression prediction models were conducted. Results: The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between sexual orientation (p-value=0.042, OR=2.040), information sources (p-value=0.045, OR=1.893), respondent knowledge (p-value=0.023, OR=1.999), condom use (p-value=0.000, OR=4.008), multiple partner behavior (p-value=0.000, OR=4.474), number of partners (p-value=0.000, OR=4.951), age at first sex (p-value=0.023, OR=2.190), PrEP use (p-value=0.009, OR=4.059), drug use (p-value=0.001, OR=2.748), HIV testing (p-value=0.011, OR=2.144), history of STIs (p-value=0.001, OR=2.700), and experiences of discrimination (p-value=0.044, OR=1.920). Conclusion: The majority of respondents reported homosexual sexual orientation (59.5%), received multiple sources of information about HIV (50.5%), had good knowledge about HIV (71%), had not used condoms consistently (58.8%), had ≥4 partners (58.6%), were at low risk of multiple partners (72.9%), had first sex at age ≥18 years (60%), did not use drugs (80.5%), did not take PrEP (75.2%), had been tested for HIV (72.4%), did not have an STI (71%), and experienced discrimination (78.1%). Multiple sexual partners was the most dominant factor influencing HIV risky sexual behavior, indicating that respondents who frequently changed sexual partners were 6.26 times more likely to engage in HIV risky sexual behavior.
