STUDI KOMPARATIF TERAPI KOMBINASI TERHADAP PERBAIKAN FUNGSI FISIK DAN INTENSITAS NYERI PASIEN LOW BACK PAIN DI RSUD SITI FATIMAH PALEMBANG
Low back pain (LBP) is one of commonly encountered musculoskeletal disorders and may lead to physical function limitations and decreased quality of life. Pharmacological therapy commonly used in the management of LBP includes combinations of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) with Paracetamol or muscle relaxants as adjuvant therapy. This study aimed to analyze the differences in physical function improvement and pain intensity reduction between patients with LBP receiving combination therapy of NSAIDs + Paracetamol and NSAIDs + muscle relaxant. This study was conducted as an observational study with prospective cohort approach. The study subject consisted of 42 patients with LBP who were divided into two groups: the NSAIDs + Paracetamol group and the NSAIDs + muscle relaxant group. Physical function was assessed using the Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ), pain intensity was measured using the Pain-Intensity-Numeric Rating Scale (PI-NRS), and medical records were used as secondary data. Data analysis was performed based on changes in scores before and after therapy. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare physical function improvement and pain intensity reduction between groups. The results showed that no statistically significant differences were found between the NSAIDs + Paracetamol group and the NSAIDs + muscle relaxant group in terms of physical function improvement (p = 0,422) or pain intensity reduction (p = 0,677). Both combination therapy provided comparable improvements in physical function and reductions in pain intensity. Keywords: Combination therapy, Low back pain, NSAIDs
