FLOKULASI MIKROALGA PORPHYRIDIUM CRUENTUM DENGAN PERBEDAAN KONSENTRASI FLOKULAN BAKTERI STREPTOMYCES SP.
Porphyridium cruentum is a red microalga rich in bioactive compounds with potential for various industries. However, harvesting is difficult due to its microscopic unicellular nature. Bioflocculation using Streptomyces sp. offers an eco-friendly alternative. This study aimed to determine the optimal concentration of Streptomyces sp. for flocculation efficiency, protein and phycoerythrin content of P. cruentum cultured in striped snakehead wastewater. The research used a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. Treatment were varying Streptomyces sp. concentrations: P0 (0.00 g L⁻¹), P1 (0.01 g L⁻¹), P2 (0.02 g L⁻¹) and P3 (0.03 g L⁻¹). The results showed significant effects of Streptomyces sp. (0.02 g L⁻¹) concentration, with the best performance at P2, yielding 92.02% flocculation efficiency, 41.30% biomass protein and 8.12% phycoerythrin. Thus, Streptomyces sp. at 0.02 g L⁻¹ can serve as an effective bioflocculant for harvesting P. cruentum.
