KEMAMPUAN COMPUTATIONAL THINKING SISWA KELAS VIII MATERI SPLDV MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH BERBANTUAN GEOGEBRA
This study aims to describe the Computational Thinking (CT) abilities of eighth-grade students on the topic of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SLETV) through problem-solving learning assisted by GeoGebra. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects were eighth-grade students of MTS Subulul Falah Tulung Harapan. Data were collected through observation, written tests, and interviews. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that problem-solving learning assisted by GeoGebra supports the development of students’ Computational Thinking abilities. In the indicators of decomposition and pattern recognition, most students were able to identify important information and recognize relationships between variables in SLETV problems. However, in the abstraction indicator, some students still experienced difficulties in filtering relevant information and translating problems into mathematical models. Meanwhile, students’ algorithmic abilities varied in organizing systematic solution steps. GeoGebra played an important role in helping students visualize SLETV graphs and verify their answers by examining the intersection points of the graphs. Therefore, problem-solving learning assisted by GeoGebra can be considered an effective alternative to support students’ Computational Thinking abilities in learning SLETV.
