KEANEKARAGAMAN SPESIES IKAN AIR TAWAR DI SUNGAI KELEKAR DESA PELEMPANG KABUPATEN MUARA ENIM SUMATERA SELATAN
Fish diversity is an important component in the functioning of aquatic ecosystems. The Kelekar River is a habitat for various species of freshwater fish. This study aims to assess the diversity of freshwater fish in the Kelekar River of middle section, Pelempang Village, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. This research was conducted from May to July 2025. This research uses explorative survey method and sample collection using the method purposive random sampling. Fishing using of barrier trap. Fish samples obtained were taken to the Basic Fisheries Laboratory, Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya to be identified and measured for length and weight. The results of the study show that 34 species of fish were caught, belonging to 14 families and 29 genera. The highest relative abundance was 16.26% for the species Rasbora daniconius and the lowest was 0.25% for the species Hemiramphus brasiliensis, Bagrichthys macracanthus and Chirocentrus dorab. The species diversity index value was 3.010, indicating that the diversity of species was high (H'>3). The evenness index value was 0.853, indicating that the evenness of species was high (E>0.6).
