ANALISIS SIMBOL BRAVE PINK HERO GREEN DI INSTAGRAM: STUDI FENOMENOLOGI MAHASISWA ILMU KOMUNIKASI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA

At the end of August 2025, the Brave Pink Hero Green phenomenon became widely used on social media, especially Instagram. This trend is characterized by the use of pink and green symbols in every content or user profile. This study aims to analyze the experiences, motives, and meanings of Communication Science students at Sriwijaya University regarding the use of visual symbols in the Brave Pink Hero Green trend. Therefore, this study uses a qualitative approach using the phenomenological method. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Research informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique with several criteria that must be met. Data analysis was carried out using the Social Construction theory by Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann as a companion in this study, the dimensions of the theory include externalization, objectification, and internalization. The results show that students' experiences with the Brave Pink Hero Green trend began with repeated exposure on social media which formed an initial impression of the symbol as a representation of resistance and voicing the dynamics of the social and political situation that occurred. The motive for using the symbol was driven by concern for socio-political issues, emotional drives, and the influence of the social environment. The Brave Pink Hero Green symbol is understood as a collective identity expressing resistance or criticism of government policies. This study concludes that visual symbols on Instagram play a significant role in constructing social constructs and shaping student political participation in the digital space.
