KEANEKARAGAMAN SPESIES IKAN AIR TAWAR DI DANAU BUATAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA INDRALAYA

Universitas Sriwijaya Indralaya has a 42.38 ha artificial freshwater lake. The species diversity of freshwater fish in the lake has not been documented. This study aims to study the species diversity of freshwater fish in the lake. The study was conducted from May to July 2025. This study used an exploratory survey method and sample collection using purposive random sampling technique. Fish were caught using various traditional fishing gear, including gill nets, cast nets, umbrella traps, bamboo traps, hook and lines, and fish traps. Research parameters included the species of fish caught, total length and body weight of the fish samples, relative abundance, diversity index, evenness index, dominance index, and water quality. The data obtained were tabulated and calculated using Microsoft Excel 2020. The results showed that 1.498 individual fish were obtained, belonging to 8 families, 13 genera, and 17 species. The longest total length and highest weight of fish was Channa lucius, which was 29.0 cm and 217 g, respectively. The highest relative abundance was Rasbora trilineata, at 40.25%. The species diversity index was 1.84, which is categorized as medium (H'= 1.0-3.0). The evenness index was 0.65, which is categorized as high (E>0.6).
