STRUKTUR PENDAPATAN DAN SUMBER PEMBIAYAAN YANG MEMPENGARUHI KEPUTUSAN PETANI UNTUK MELANJUTKAN USAHATANI KOPI DI DESA BABATAN KECAMATAN LINTANG KANAN EMPAT LAWANG
The diverse income structure and limited capital encouraged coffee farmers to utilize financing sources in maintaining their farming activities. Access to financing influenced farmers’ decisions to continue coffee farming in Babatan Village. The purposes of this search were to (1) analyzed the income structure of coffee farmer households in Babatan Village, Lintang Kanan District, Empat Lawang Regency, (2) identified access to sources of production and consumption credit for coffee farmers in Babatan Village, Lintang Kanan District, Empat Lawang Regency and (3) analyzed the factors that influenced farmers’ decisions to continue coffee farming in Babatan Village, Lintang Kanan District, Empat Lawang Regency The research method was a survey method with simple random sampling method. The processing methods used are analysis, descriptive, and factor analysis. The data used in this study consisted of primary and secondary data. The results showed that (1) the income structure of coffee farmers in Babatan Village was dominated by coffee farming, with an average income of IDR 27,146,399.00 per year or 76%, followed by income from non-coffee farming activities amounting to IDR 5,539,512.20 per year or 16%, and non-agricultural income of IDR 2,938,780.49 per year or 8%. The total average income of coffee farmers reached IDR 35,624,692.00 per year. (2) Most farmers still used their own capital for production activities, while those who accessed credit generally depended on non-formal institutions, particularly middlemen. Production credit was relatively interest-free; however, some farmers still relied on moneylenders who charged very high interest rates. In terms of consumption, some farmers used credit to meet household needs with a repayment system at harvest time. This condition indicated limited access of farmers to formal financial institutions. (3) Factors influencing the decision of coffee farmers in Babatan Village to continue coffee farming consisted variables namely farmers’ age, education level, experience, production, productivity, access to production credit, access to consumption credit, and price.
