ANALISIS FRAMING MEDIA BOLASPORT.COM TERKAIT PEMBERITAAN KEGAGALAN TIMNAS INDONESIA DI ROUND EMPAT KUALIFIKASI PIALA DUNIA 2026
This study examines how the online media outlet BolaSport.com frames news coverage of the Indonesian National Team’s failure in the fourth round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. This failure is not merely a sporting issue, but also contributes to the construction of public discourse related to nationalism, professionalism, and the governance of national football. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis model, which consists of four main elements: define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgments, and treatment recommendations. The research data were collected through documentation of ten news articles published by BolaSport.com that specifically discuss the Indonesian National Team’s failure in this phase of the competition. The findings indicate that BolaSport.com tends to frame the failure as a structural and strategic issue, emphasizing coaching decisions, inconsistent team performance, and dynamics within national football management. The media also presents relatively critical moral judgments while still providing space for narratives of players’ efforts and struggles. Furthermore, BolaSport.com frequently directs solutions toward comprehensive evaluation and improvements in the player development system. This study highlights the active role of the media in constructing the meaning of the Indonesian National Team’s failure and shaping public perception through framing practices in sports journalism
