ANALISIS HERMENEUTIKA KRITIK SOSIAL DALAM LIRIK LAGU "DALAM HITUNGAN" KARYA .FEAST

Music does not merely function as a form of entertainment, but also as a medium of mass communication capable of conveying messages and social criticism to society. One form of such social criticism can be found in the lyrics of the song “Dalam Hitungan” by the band .Feast, which highlights contemporary social phenomena, particularly society’s dependence on numbers, technology, and social media. This study aims to analyze and understand the meaning of social criticism contained in the lyrics of “Dalam Hitungan” using Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutic approach. This research employs a qualitative method with textual analysis, in which the song lyrics are positioned as an autonomous discourse to be interpreted through symbols, diction, and the underlying social context. The findings indicate that the lyrics of “Dalam Hitungan” represent a critique of materialistic and algorithmic culture in modern society, where individual value is often measured by numbers such as followers and popularity on social media. The song also illustrates the degradation of social relationships and the dominance of digital life over real-life interactions. Through a hermeneutic approach, this study affirms that music can function as a reflective and relevant medium of social criticism in revealing the dynamics of contemporary society.
