UJI EKSTRAK BUBUK DAUN KEMANGI DALAM PENGENDALIAN HAMA KUMBANG TEPUNG MERAH (Tribolium castaneum HERBST)
Tribolium castaneum is one of the pests found in warehouses. This pest has a wide range of attacks on the crops stored in warehouses. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of basil leaf powder on the population of T.castaneum rice weevils in storage. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD). This study used a control, 6 treatments, and 4 replicates of leaf powder extracts for 0g, 2.5g, 4g, 6g, 8g, and 10g. These were mixed with 10g of rice and 20 T. castaneum insects. During 10 days of observation, which was observed 3x24 hours using observation parameters, mortality, repellency index, LD50 and LT50. The highest mortality rate was at a concentration of 8g with a value of 69%, at concentrations of 2.5g, 4g, 6g, and 10g obtained a slightly higher value of 68%. The highest average repellency index in the study was at a concentration of 8g with a value of 48. On the first day of LD50 analysis, the value was 20,419, and on the 10th day, the LD50 value was 1,399. The LT50 on the 3rd day was 46,063, but at a concentration of 10g on the 6th day, the value was negative at -3,179, meaning that it caused the test insects to die very quickly. In conclusion, the effective concentration for controlling T. castaneum is 8g, because the higher the concentration used, the greater the repellency index value, and high concentrations can cause the test insects to move away from the treatment
