EFEKTIVITAS PENGGUNAAN PUPUK ORGANIK TERHADAP SERANGAN PENYAKIT BLAS DAN PERTUMBUHAN TANAMAN PADI (Oryza sativa)
Paddy (Oryza sativa) is a perennial crop grown throughout the world. Paddy (Oryza sativa L.) is a staple food crop consumed daily by the entire population, making it a crucial necessity. The paddy harvest significantly impacts the availability of rice, a staple food. While paddy yields can sometimes increase, they can also decrease. The decline in paddy production is caused by various factors, as blast disease. Using natural ingredients as organic fertilizers can be a way to reduce blast disease attacks on paddy plants. Through this research, can find out how effective the use of organic fertilizer is in reducing or suppressing the level of blast disease attacks and find out how the use of organic fertilizer affects the growth of paddy plants during the vegetative and generative phases, as well as increasing paddy production yields. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with five treatments, including a control, and four replications for each treatment, resulting in 20 units. The results showed an effective effect in suppressing the intensity and percentage of blast disease attacks on paddy plants. It also had a positive effect on paddy plant growth during the vegetative and generative phases and was also proven to increase paddy yields. It can be concluded that the use of organic fertilizer is effective in suppressing disease attacks, increasing vegetative and generative growth, and increasing the yield and quality of rice production. The suggestion in this study is to further examine the effect of combining organic fertilizers with inorganic fertilizers or other biological agents, as well as to evaluate the most optimal dose and application time to increase the effectiveness of blast disease control and production results.
