STUDI KUALITATIF: ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM MERDEKA PADA KELAS X TEKNIK MESIN SMK NEGERI 7 PALEMBANG
This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Grade X Mechanical Engineering at State Vocational High School 7 Palembang, with a focus on instructional activities, student participation inworkplace-related learning, and the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). The research employed a descriptive qualitative design. Data were collected through document analysis, in-depth interviews, and classroom observations involving five informants, consisting of a workshop coordinator, productive Mechanical Engineering teachers, and Grade X students. The findings reveal that the Merdeka Curriculum has been implemented through project-based learning, the use of instructional modules, and the integration of practical activities with P5. Indicators of implementation include teachers’ roles as facilitators, active student engagement in project and practical activities, and the alignment of learning materials with workplace demands. However, the study also identified several challenges, including students’ readiness for independent learning, variations in teachers’ understanding of the Merdeka Curriculum, and limitations in practical facilities. The results suggest that to achieve more contextual and sustainable learning, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in vocational schools requires strong school management support, continuous improvement of teacher competencies, and enhanced collaboration with the industrial sector.
