Students often consider exponential material as easy to understand. In fact, students are not yet fully able to understand and master exponential problems, especially the material on integer powers. The majority of students still have difficulty in mastering and understanding exponential material. This study will discuss the application of problem-solving-based learning using the context of worm growth. The research method is a design research type of validation studies, including three stages: preparation and design, design experiment and retrospective analysis. The classes involved were two classes: class 8.1 with 10 students, class 8.2 with 20 students, and a class 8 teacher from MTs N 1 OKU Selatan. The pilot experiment class came from class 8.1 and the teaching experiment class came from class 8.2. Data collection used observation techniques, LKPD, interviews, and pretest/posttest. The goal is to obtain a learning trajectory based on exponential problem solving using the context of worm growth, and to determine its effectiveness. The results show that the average value of the Ngain pilot and teaching experiment is 0.61 and 0.67, which are in the moderate category, and also indicate that the large difference or increase in the average ability of students to solve student problems is 61% and 67%. Thus, the learning trajectory is proven to be quite effective in making it easier for students to understand exponentials. The learning trajectory consists of four activities based on the context of worm growth, namely: (1) worms dividing themselves to solve exponential problems of positive powers; (2) worm research in the class mini lab to solve problems on the properties of exponents; (3) worm time machine to solve exponential problems of zero and negative powers; (4) worm research challenges to solve exponential problems as a whole.
