KONVERGENSI KONTEN BERITA SRIWIJAYA POST MELALUI MEDIA SOSIAL (STUDI KASUS AKUN TIKTOK @SRIPOKU.COM)

Parsa, Nadia Sutia - Personal Name;

This study examines the practice of news content convergence carried out by Sriwijaya Post in adapting news from its online portal into short video content on TikTok through the @sripoku.com account. This research is grounded in the shift of news consumption patterns toward short-form video platforms. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed to obtain an in-depth understanding of the newsroom practices involved in content adaptation at a local media organization. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with Sriwijaya Post editorial staff, observation of TikTok content, documentation, and relevant literature review. The collected data were analyzed using the pattern matching technique proposed by Robert K. Yin. The findings indicate that content convergence occurs through cross-platform content flow, including news selection from the online portal, information condensation, visual adjustment, and narrative structuring to fit TikTok’s short-video characteristics. Audience interactions through comments, likes, and shares also reflect the presence of participatory culture and collective intelligence, which influence content visibility and further content development. These findings suggest that TikTok functions not merely as an additional distribution channel, but as an integral part of newsroom practices within local media in the era of media convergence.. KeyWords: content convergence, digital journalism, local media, TikTok, Sriwijaya Post
