University students are individuals pursuing higher education at tertiary institutions. During their academic activities, some students must leave their homes to reside in boarding houses located near campus. Students living in boarding houses often experience independent living with limited family support, academic demands, and environmental adaptation challenges. These conditions may contribute to increased anxiety and adversely affect sleep quality. This quantitative study employed an analytical research design with a cross-sectional approach. The study included 120 students selected using stratified random sampling. Bivariate analysis was conducted using Fisher's Exact Test (Monte Carlo simulation). The results showed that the majority of respondents experienced mild anxiety (62.5%), followed by moderate anxiety (14.2%) and severe anxiety (10.8%). Poor sleep quality was reported by 96.7% of respondents. The Fisher's Exact Test (Monte Carlo) yielded a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality among boarding students. These findings higlight the critical role of anxiety in influencing sleep quality among students living away from home.
