Drug control in hospitals is one of the important aspects of a pharmacy installation that can be analyzed from several indicators, including damaged drugs, expired drugs, and dead stock drugs. This study aims to determine the percentage value, compliance with ideal targets, and contributing factors of damaged drugs, expired drugs, and dead stock drugs using descriptive analysis at RSI Siti Khadijah Palembang. Medication data was obtained through purposive sampling of medication documents from January to December 2024 and questionnaire completion by the Pharmacist in Charge at the RSI Siti Khadijah Pharmacy Department. The findings show that damaged drugs obtained a score of 0%, indicating that they had met the ideal target, while expired drugs scored 4.29% and dead stock drugs scored 1.79%, 0.94%, 0.94%, and 1.19% for four consecutive quarters respectively indicate that these two indicators have not met the ideal target. The factors causing expired drugs included prescription patterns and epidemiology in terms of planning, grant stocks and waiting times in terms of procurement, and damaged drug packaging for return in terms of destruction/withdrawal. Dead stock drugs are caused by prescription patterns and epidemiology in terms of planning, as well as waiting times in terms of procurement. This study concludes that only the indicator for damaged drugs meets the ideal target, while expired drugs and dead stock drugs have not met the target due to several factors, including planning, procurement, and destruction/withdrawal.
