PERAN MORAL OUTRAGE TERHADAP COLLECTIVE ACTION PADA DEWASA YANG MELAKUKAN GERAKAN BOIKOT PRODUK ISRAEL DI INDONESIA

This study aims to determine the role of moral outrage in collective action among adults engaging in the boycott of Israeli products in Indonesia. The hypothesis of this study is that moral outrage plays a role in collective action. The population of this research was adults engaging in the boycott of Israeli products in Indonesia, with a sample size of 157 adults involved in the boycott movement of Israeli products in Indonesia, while 53 adults were involved in the try out. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The measurement tools used in this reserach were the collective action scale developed by the researcher, which referred to the aspects of collective action by Van Zomeren, Postmes, and Spears (2008) and a moral outrage scale developed by the researcher, which referred to the aspects of moral outrage by Bastias and Cañadas (2021). Data analysis was conducted using kendall tau technique. The results of kendall tau between moral outrage and collective action showed an r value of 0,544 and significance value of 0,000 (p < 0,05). These results indicate that moral outrage has a significant role in collective action. Therefore, the hypothesis proposed in this research is accepted.
