PERAN GURU PPKN DALAM MENGATASI DEGRADASI MORAL PESERTA DIDIK DI SMAN 2 PALEMBANG

This study aims to examine the role of Pancasila and Civic Education teachers in addressing the moral degradation of students at SMAN 2 Palembang. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through triangulation techniques, including observation, interviews, and documentation. A total of 13 informants were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data validity was ensured through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. Data analysis was conducted in three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the role of Pancasila and Civic Education teachers is effective in addressing students’ moral degradation. This effectiveness can be observed through the implementation of four indicators of the teachers’ roles in addressing moral degradation among students, namely: (1) the teacher’s role as a motivator; (2) the teacher’s role as a communicator; (3) the teacher’s role as a friend; and (4) the teacher’s role as a guide.
